I was born at the end of 1944, the penultimate year of World War Two.
Luckily for me, this occurred in New York City. On the day of my birth,
Duke Ellington and his orchestra gave a concert at Carnegie Hall. I
like to think that this influenced me somehow, and helped my creativity.
Growing
up in the repressed fifties, I became aware that images of bound women
excited me when I discovered detective magazine covers. Some people
have told me that old weekly movie serials was how they discovered bondage,
but for me it was detective mags. They always had a tied and gagged
girl on the cover, and this had a profound effect on me. I began to
have fantasies of tying girls up! I started to make drawings based on
the photos in lingerie ads, in which the girls were tied up and gagged.
I didn't know why I did this; all I knew was that it excited me!
Before I got into photography , I had been totally involved in art;
I drew, painted, studied industrial design, etc. I wanted to be a car
stylist. I have been influenced by people like Rembrandt, Dali, Pinin
Farina, Heinrich Kley, John Singer Sargent, Durer, Basil Woolverton,
Will Eisner, Mad Magazine's Mort Drucker, Jack Davis, Jackson Pollock,
Arshile Gorky, Miro... You get the idea! Martin Schongauer's engraving
"The Temptation of Saint Anthony" had a strong effect on me.
Well, I grew up, moved to California, etc. In California, I decided
to go to photography school. To pay for it, I began a 20-year career
as a taxi driver. I had countless adventures in the cab business, but
that will have to wait. While in school, I realized that all these bondage
publications and photos I had been collecting for years didn't appear
out of thin air; someone tied up the girls and shot the photos-I wanted
to be that someone! So that is what I did! One day I would be a cabdriver;
the next I would be a bondage photographer!
I
put an ad for models for bondage photos in the LA Free Press, a leading
counter-culture newspaper at the time. The girl in the ad department
read my ad and then asked me if I was serious and if the girls would
be gagged! I answered yes, and she called me that night! She became
my first bondage model, and I'll always remember her!
After getting a few models from the ad, I realized that there were
nude model agencies in Los Angeles, and I began to use them. Since then,
I have worked with the same agency that handles most of the XXX-rated
talent in LA, so I have been able to put many famous names in the XXX
business into the tight bondage they deserve. I have bound, gagged,
and photographed many legends in the business including Jennifer West,
Laurel Blake, Tanya Foxx, Dyanna Lauren, Ebony Ayes, Ashley Renee, Trinity
Loren, Danni Ashe, Greta Carlson, Busty Bell, Tiffany Storm, Lynden
Johnson... the list could go on and on! I enjoy breast bondage, so I
tend to go with large-breasted victims. I love my work and I'll continue
to do it until I can no longer apply a ball-gag or pick up a camera!
